The 18th edition of the DY Patil T20 Cup 2024, a domestic T20 tournament organized by the DY Sports Academy approved by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), is set to kick off on Monday, February 26, and conclude on Saturday, March 9. This season will see 16 teams divided into four groups competing in a total of 31 matches, including playoffs.
DY Patil Stadium was proud to host the FIFA U17 tournament . It was an endeavor to create history by being a part of the world’s largest sporting event.
DY Patil Stadium served as the home ground for Mumbai City FC in the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. Legends like Fredrik Ljungberg and Nicolas Anelka had graced the stadium while playing for Mumbai City FC. The final of the tournament was hosted at DY Patil Stadium, with Atletico de Kolkata trumping over Kerala Blasters.
Indians had their first real taste of the new, exciting T20 format when the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy (DYPSA) organised the country’s first official T20 tournament in 2005.
The tournament saw players like Yuvraj Singh, Cheteshwar Pujara, Piyush Chawla, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Pragyan Ojha, Iqbal Abdullah, Unmukt Chand, Naman Ojha, Sanju Samson, Pravin Tambe, Jay Bista etc play in to create history.
