15th D Y Patil T20

Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Yuvraj Singh, Robin Utthappa, Unmukt Chand, Krunal Pandya and many more were seen displaying an impressive game on the cricket grounds of the DY Patil Campus in Navi Mumbai and Talegaon. There were victories and defeats but one thing was constant; unadulterated excitement.

The highest ever T20 score of 279 runs was made, centuries were scored, game results were overturned and plenty of fun was had. The 15^th DY Patil T20 was bigger, badder and more exciting than all the previous years of DY Patil’s T20 history.Here are 15 things that made the 15^th DY Patil T20 even grander.

280 runs is a T20 Record! Never before has there been a team in the T20 format to make such a big score. For the very first time in the history of T20 cricket, 280 runs were scored by ONGC against Indian Oil. This big a feat achieved on th 15^th DY Patil T20 platform is a huge achievement for DY Patil University and our President Dr. Vijay D. Patil.

Yuvraj Singh played for Air India and recreated his old magic as he swung into action and scored 87 runs in 53 balls in a match against. Although he fell short of a few runs to complete a century, the audience wildly cheered him on for achieving a great score.

He is one of the most energetic and inspiring cricketers to have played for the Indian team. Just as some thought that his illustrious career is behind him, he wowed every audience member with his batting prowess that made the stands go wild in the past.

Arjun Tendulkar displayed phenomenal fast-bowling skills on the field as this lanky and talented teenager was seen following the footsteps of theerstwhile Indian team’s successful pace-bowler Zaheer Khan.

The audience at the Talegaon campus of DY Patil was every bit as enthuisiastic, perhaps even more so, than the audience at DY Patil. They were so ecstatic watching the game that they swarmed the cricket filed seconds after the matches or even the innings got over.

For the first time DY Patil T20 was hosted outside of the DY Patil Conclave, at the Reliance Corporate Park, Ghansoli. The lush green grounds of the Reliance Corporate Park were prepped for 4 cricket matches on Day 3

Ace cricketer Zaheer Khan mentored the two-time DY Patil T20 champions Reliance One. Former Indian cricketer and selector Kiran More selected talented players for teams.

Two in-house teams, namely DY Patil A and DY Patil B played against each other in the much awaited Semi-finals of the utterly fascinating and surprise-filled 15^th DY Patil T20 tournament. The crowd went wild when the under-dogs DY Patil A won against their slightly more experienced and superior counterparts.

Aman Khan of DY Patil B showcased breathtaking performance all throughout the season irrespective of the wicket conditions. He scored some half- centuries throughout the tournament and therefore played an instrumental role in the victories of his team.

Needless to say in accordance with the previous highlight, DY Patil managed to break the Reliance One’s two-year  winning streak in a thrilling confrontation on the field.  We hope that Reliance One continues to play phenomenally well so as to elevate the DY Patil standards to a whole new level.

After two continuous years of eluding victory, a DY Patil team made it to the victor’s list.In a head to head match with the two-time winning champion Reliance One, DY Patil emerged victorious to the happiness of many rooting for them.
